A family-friendly show bringing back comedy from Mama's Family and the Carol Burnett Show. Comedian and actor Vicki Lawrence is best known for her portrayal of the comedy character Mama on The Carol Burnett which aired from 1967 to 1978. The comedy sketch called The Family featuring the Mama character first aired during the 7th season of the variety show. It was intended to be a one-time skit but was so popular that it became a regular for the remaining seasons. The incredible popularity of the skit led to Lawrence hosting her own show called Mama’s Family. Vicki is also a talented singer, scoring a Number One hit in 1973 with her version of “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia.” Vicki’s family-friendly show features her comedy skits that were perfected on the Carol Burnett Show and her years performing her one-woman show all over the world.
